My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shuri is a very sweet 1 year old female Pointer/Dal mix. Shuri is full grown at 48 pounds. She was adopted during the high Covid and was returned now because the adopter no longer had time for her.
Shuri is energetic and strong willed. She loves the outdoors where she can run, jump, and chase butterflies and birds:-). She has a bright smile, is very affectionate, and loves to lick (everything, even other dogs). She LOVES playing fetch.

Shuri is working on house training and learning not to jump/climb on the furniture/beds/people. She doesn't bark when she needs to go out, but she will start sniffing. She has never used the bathroom in her kennel over night. Her foster Mom walks her around 9:30pm and she sleeps until around 6 or 7am and then she goes out before and after she eats. They usually walk her later mid-day and late afternoon. A home would be best with someone who definitely has time to take long walks or is a runner or who enjoys catch/fetch or who has a fenced yard. Definitely recommend a harness, because she still pulls some.

She is very much a puppy and needs lots of chew toys. She will howl/cry if she has to sleep in her kennel without someone or another dog nearby. If her kennel is not securely locked, she will quickly get out and get into mischief.

She rides quite well in the care and doesn't try to climb over the seats or try to engage the driver.

She does well with baths and having her nails trimmed.

Shuri is good with dogs and children. She knows how to sit, shake and lay down on command. She is house trained and playful and will make a wonderful addition to any home. Shuri has been spayed and is up-to-date on all vaccines and heartworm meds.

Adoption fee is $150.00. Home and vet checks will be required along with an Adoption Application prior to a meet and greet. Please call or text Susan at 727-417-6017.
