My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smiley is a super sweet 3 year old Great Pyrenees (not registered). He is an amazingly wonderful compact size for the breed (80-85 pounds) as he was the runt of his litter. He is neutered and completely up to date on all vaccines and medications. Smiley is great with other dogs and tolerant of cats. He is wonderful with children, but due to his size, a home with older children would be best. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, and rides well in the car.

Smiley has lived the pampered life of an only dog child. Up to this point in his life, he has lived with his mom and dad having someone at home with him almost all the time. When mom and dad had to go out of town, he stayed at a doggy daycare where he played with his doggy friends.

Smiley’s mom and dad are dealing with major life changes, including the loss of employment and are unable to care for him. They are heartbroken over this, and due to no fault of his own, they are hoping to find a new home for Smiley who will love him as much as they do.

Smiley is a typical Pyrenees with all the typical traits. He is protective of his family and home, and can be very vocal. It takes him a while to warm up to new friends, but once you’ve gained his trust, he’s a big love. His favorite things to do is give hugs (to get pets), leaning (to get pets), and belly scratches.

Secure, visible fencing is almost always required to adopt from NorthStar.

An adoption application, site visit, and adoption fee are required to adopt Smiley.
