My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Dale is a 3 year old shitzu mix.  He is about 25 pounds.  Dale was an owner surrender to a pound in Texas and found to be heartworm positive.  He has since gone through treatment and is otherwise a healthy dog.  He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for his lifetime.

Dale is a quiet dog for the most part.  He doesn’t seem to have much of a personality.  He is friendly, wags his tail when you talk sweet to him and comes when called but otherwise he just enjoys laying around.

Dale is fostered with other dogs and gets along just fine.  He has had a few fosters that he really loved and was very playful when they were here but now that they have moved on he kind of just keeps to himself.

Dale is leash trained and seems to enjoy going on walks.  He is now crate trained but he doesn’t love it.  He has marked in the foster home a few times but he has all but stopped since his neuter.  He uses the doggy door without any issues.  We always say to please expect accidents as they are acclimating to a new home and routine.

Dale is friendly to strangers, he is just fine with kids.  He has not been cat tested but honestly he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and I would be shocked if there would be any issues.

Dale is a great dog. He likes to be around  people but doesn’t demand a ton of attention.  He would make a great companion for almost anyone.  Dale does require regular grooming so please take that into consideration when you apply!

Dale is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and treated for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $450
