Sri Lanka is an 8 year old female who came into the shelter on 5/21 as an owner surrender.

Sri Lanka has a confusing story to tell. Our heads are spinning a little trying to make sense of it, we can’t imagine how disorientated she must feel. Sri Lanka was surrendered by someone who got her from another family that surrender had originally given dog to 8 years ago. We aren’t sure why the family that had her for her whole life couldn’t bring her in and we won’t ever probably. Onward and upward for Sri Lanka. She is spritely for a dog her age and looks like she was well cared for.

Sri Lanka is easy to leash and walk through the yard. She’s still doing a lot of owner searching in the lots but can also engage with us. She isn’t very interested in toys and she’s not really motivated by treats so we’ve yet to see her perform any commands. Not even a sit but it’s hard to imagine an eight year old dog wouldn’t know at least sit. Sri Lanka allows handling all over and is very affectionate. She is pretty respectful of our space when down on her level except the occasional make out attempts. Sri Lanka has some solid staccato moves when meeting other dogs. She is a hoot of a dog really. We can’t wait to get to know her better and see her find a home that will keep her happily for the rest of her life.
