Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat though our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Keiko is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with his current owner in Davis. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Keiko is an energetic 9 month old kitten that matches the Turkish Van breed. The term "Van" has been adopted to describe white cats with colored head and fluffy tail markings. They are energetic, playful, friendly, affectionate, intelligent and strong.

Keiko is also a highly prized 4 paw polydactyl. He has extra toes with black and pink toe pads. Keiko's front feet look like cute big mitts with a 'thumb'. Nobel Prize winning author Ernest Hemingway was a famous aficionado of polydactyl cats, after being first given, by a ship captain, a six-toed cat he named Snow White. Because of his love for polydactyl cats, they are sometimes referred to as "Hemingway cats".

His owner says this about him:
"Keiko loves everyone he meets and is always there to greet us at the door when we come home. He loves to play and is also very cuddly. He is absolutely adorable! Keiko lives to play. He is very energetic and loves just about every toy. His favorite is the cat dancer toy. He also loves to be near you and comes when called. He loves to cuddle and when he gets very happy, he likes to suckle on blankets. He trusts very easily and loves everyone who showers him with attention."

Keiko likes other cats and wants to engage in rough and tumble play. He is a little rascal towards their 2 yr old docile female cat who prefers to not engage in play with him. She has become withdrawn, hiding from everyone. She is much happier when separated, but now, Keiko is over-anxious. It is not a good situation for either cat. Because Keiko demonstrates a very dominating personality and doesn't listen to boundaries in this regard, his owners have made the difficult decision to seek a more compatible home. His owner suggests he be either an only cat or matched with a confident, young, energetic male cat. Keiko does well with children ages 7+. He may get a little nippy when overstimulated. Keiko is scared of dogs. He can get a bit jealous of other pets getting attention so perhaps being an only cat suits him.

He good eater, loves both wet and dry food. He's vigorous covering in his litter box, a top entry is best for him.

Most importantly, Keiko just wants to be loved, and love you in return, and enjoy interactive play time with his toys. He would do best with owners who are home most of the time with a consistent schedule, love to engage in interactive play, allow him to sleep on the bed and enjoy cuddles with him. Standard Adoption Fee of $175 applies.

Keiko is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

He currently lives with his owner in Davis.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Keiko please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!
