My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tucker comes to us as a matted (and very dirty) stray found recently. His finder posted him all over in hopes of getting him home, or getting him into a rescue’s care since he doesn’t appear to have been very well cared for – when no owner turned up, we decided to take him in with us. He has since had a much needed bath and brush to start to break free some of his mats, though his coat still needs a little more love.

Since he has come to us he has done great in foster care! He loves playing with his foster sister (hyper 2yr husky) and they get along great! Tucker is also with an older husky (9yr) that can be a bit grumpy and he tolerates her attitude pretty well. Tucker will stand up for himself if she takes things too far, though, and there have been a couple minor dog fights. Tucker has never been the initiator of any bad encounters with these girls.

His foster has had Tucker around many people at once and he remained a sweet guy even around strangers! He’s a little timid at first but eventually tolerates pets well. Tucker still has occasional potty accidents but typically only when locked inside over night and it happens rarely.

Tucker was in the habit of humping before being neutered a week ago. He has not done it since his surgery but not sure if he will continue to have this habit. Hopefully neutering him has resolved this but since he’s older it could be a retained habit.

Tucker lives with 2 cats and shows interest in them (watching through window, sniffing under door) but he has not been allowed access to them since his foster keeps the cats separate for their safety from the other dogs.
