My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sacramento- *special needs* Po Potame came to us at just an hour old  because he had a cleft palate on 11/29/20.   He was tube fed until he was weaned and eats solid food like a champ but would like a water bottle along with a water bowl. He eats, plays, and acts mostly just like a normal puppy.

He is super playful, wants to be in your face or on top of you at times, is hugely dramatic when it comes to things like nail  trims and vaccines. He definitely lacks in the intelligence department (luckily he makes up for it in cute).  This means he makes poor life choices like jumping off of things he has no business jumping off of.  This led to his completely breaking his right leg in 2, and needing to have surgery to put it back together.  He was heavily medicated, but that didn't slow him down much, so it has been 2 months and he is FINALLY cast free (this cost about $5k total), but still walks with a limp (I think he does it to look cool).  But this means he needs someone who will not take for granted common sense.  He will not be considered for a home with a unfenced pool or pond. Even with palate trimming, he is easily overheated, so no dog doors. People absolutely must be prepared for expensive vet bills with any Frenchie, but those lacking common sense, more so.  I think homes without too much excitement and commotion where there is more time for this loving and needy boy, would be ideal.  I am really looking for people with Frenchie experience.

French Bulldogs are not a breed for everyone (no matter what the very wrong google searches say). They behave more like cats than dogs (especially as they mature about 2 years). They are stubborn, disloyal (everyone is their best friend and they are likely to walk off with anyone), and some are very selective and grumpy. Many people think frenchies are cute, and they are, but there is a lot more to them. Like Po likes to guard his food, he has never been hungry a day in his life, he is just a brat.  Also, if someone starts crap with him, he will totally give it back. But he wants to fall asleep, on his back, laying across you snoring in your face.  He was raised by humans so he is very attached to them.  He is a great dog for the road (minus his attempts to attack the overpasses as you drive by), has been raised with a dog saavy kid, and did I mention he is cute?
