My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, DOB: May 8, 2013

Milo is the sweetest cat you will ever meet! This handsome boy is so affectionate and open hearted, he loves everyone immediately! Milo is a little cuddle bug; he loves giving kisses, and is always happy to get a pet or two. Milo is so gentle, even when playing! He loves to roughhouse a little, but will never use his claws or break the skin.

Milo is also very curious. He loves looking around, and wants to know what’s behind every door!

Despite being an older kitty, Milo has energy bursts throughout the day! He loves playing with his toys (his catnip Hello Kitty and baseball are two of his favorites), with any string, and with anyone who’ll give him attention!

Milo is a very vocal cat. He’ll wake you up bright and early, but will come back for good morning cuddles and kisses. Milo LOVES his naps, and upon waking immediately needs a cuddle or two. His favorite nap spots are in the laundry hamper, or between pillows.

He also is so smart! Milo will paw at any door to get you to open it; with his foster home having some mirror doors, Milo paws on the standing mirrors in the room too!

Milo has two luxating patellas (trick knees) on both his back legs (Grade II on his right back knee, and Grade III on his left). Because of this, he has difficulty climbing and jumping, and needs to either be picked up or have something (like steps or boxes) to climb up with. Special effort needs to be made to allow Milo ease in getting up and down from high places, as well as extra attention to his back knees and his gait. Milo will need to be watched a little more closely, to see if his knees get worse, as they may require surgery one day. He will also need regular vet visits, as his knees might cause him to require pain management in the future.

While his knees mean Milo sits and walks differently, he is still very active! He runs, plays, and follows his foster mom around like any other cat. Milo also has a small white lesion on his right eye. While it is likely a scar from trauma, it is unknown how much this may have impacted Milo’s vision.

Special note from the foster family: This kitty is an absolute treasure. He is so full of love and joy, and will steal your heart completely. Despite his unique challenges, Milo is worth every bit of extra effort. When he picks his person, he will pick them over everything. Watching him open up is a privilege and an absolute pleasure.

Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.
