My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Viola is a Domestic Medium Hair (DMH), female, DOB: 9/15/15.

As calm and easy-to-please as she is beautiful, Viola has a comfort zone she likes to operate in, but being a no-nonsense, pretty confident feline means she’ll warm-up quickly given a little time to settle in and become familiar with any new environment. Intelligent and interested, she’s not one to stand idly by watching activities from afar; her social, inquisitive nature will have her wanting to be involved with her people; and when the mood suits her, she’s been known to show her wild side and lose all inhibitions with catnip and her favorite toys.

Although typically an undemanding, calm and quiet cat who is happy just to be in the presence of people and near family activities, Viola thrives with attention, appreciates having her coat brushed regularly, and would love to have a window perch where she will sleep and enjoy spending much time throughout the day. An appreciator of exploration too, she loves to check out her surroundings and would most-definitely enjoy treat-themed or interactive toys to keep her mind active.

Viola came to Monroe SPCA as a rescue from Monroe County Animal Control - she was treated immediately for a URI and malnutrition. While with us she was also treated for ear mites, Giardia, Coccidia, fleas, and Tape and Roundworm.

Now a healthy, happy cat, she’s looking for a forever family who will welcome and embrace her as a life-long, beloved companion and family member, and always appreciate her for the sweet, gentle soul she is.

Viola is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Viola currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
