Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
December (F) Approx DOB 10/1/17
FIV POSITIVE
December was captured by an ECAR volunteer in fall 2019 while she was actively giving birth (you can see the pics on website). The volunteer took her home with two newborns and later that day there were 6 brown tabby kittens all looking just like her. This mama suffered severe mastitis after her spay a couple months later and was rushed to the vet in December (hence her name. Named by the vet). Her life was saved after a very major surgery. When she was ready to be returned to her outdoor home the feeder who had cared for her had moved away. ECAR of course would not release her back with no feeder. Soooo... she’s remained in foster care for over a year. As time went on December became more used to humans and started to like gentle petting pets and scratches. When approached gently she prrrrs and rolls her head under your hand, even when people that she doesn’t know approach her. December is a quiet gentle soul. She has never ever hissed or scratched or lashed out at anyone. If she’s feeling scared she simply goes off on her own to one of her favorite places. We believe that given time, love and lots of attention this beautiful girl will continue to blossom and be a wonderful pet. She doesn’t like loud noises or quick movements so a home with no children is important. She gets along with other cats ok but mostly just stays by herself in her favorite bed in the sun by a window. A gentle quiet dog that will leave her alone might be ok too. We are looking for a special person willing to give December a chance at a forever loving home. Someone that wants to not only adopt but truly rescue a cat that has been through so much. December has been incredibly healthy the last 13 months even with her FIV positive status. No illness. Not even a cold. December is hoping that someone will open their heart and home to give her the opportunity that she’s so deserving of. Her own home and family!
