My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Freya!

Hello. My name is Freya and I’m around one year old. I came up from Texas and the vets believe I have a prior injury to my spine which means I can’t always hold my poo. But my foster mom says it’s really easy to take care of me and I still act like a regular one year-old. I'm a real good girl and do my pee business outside. In my foster home I use a doggy door, so I can let myself out, so I might do best in a home with someone home more often to take me out more frequently, if you don't have a doggy door that I can use. I love to play and run around in the yard and go for a walks. I sometimes chase the kitties here, but I can live with them. I don’t ever try to hurt them I just really really really want them to play with me. I love other dogs I get along with everybody. I’ve been around kids as young as eight years old and I love them. But I am a big girl and I don’t know my size sometimes so if you have really little kids I might knock them over on accident. I know how to use the dog door and I enjoy spending time outside in the sun. I’m still working on some manners like most pups but I’m actually very well behaved and even though I like to play and run and I can hang out inside and just chill. I prefer to eat by myself so no one bothers me, and then I don't have to assume they are trying to get my food. I'm really the best of both worlds, and if you have a special place in your heart for special needs dogs, I'm the gal for you!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
