Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I’m a 15 month, 60 lb. black Lab mix who is loving and loyal! I crave attention and love to give licks, but I can chill out on the tile when the humans are busy. I prefer the limelight and I need to be the one-and-only four legged in my home. My foster family is thrilled that I don’t dart out the front door! I do pull a bit at the very beginning of my walks, but then I enjoy staying right by my foster mom’s side. She says I’m the best walker yet! I get hot quickly so lengthy hikes in the heat just aren’t my jam. I get very excited when we pass people and other dogs. I try to pull my foster mom across the road to see them. She’ll tug on my leash and encourage me to keep walking and I must say that I’m refocusing quickly. I just started going into my crate on my own. It’s been sitting in the house with the door open since I arrived, but I finally feel comfortable walking in and curling up for a nap. My foster family lets me roam in the main living space when they are gone because I don’t destroy the home or things in it. I love the freedom to move around and be able to go in and out the doggy door. I like tennis balls to play fetch and stuffed toys to carry around and chew-up a bit. When I met the neighbor dog, I got the feeling I was being a little overbearing and scared him, so I need help making dog friends. You might say starting me off with safe social distancing from the neighbor’s 4 legged is your best bet. I really like water! My human foster brothers, ages 9 and 10, like to spray me with the hose and I run and chase the water in the backyard for exercise. They laugh so hard it makes me happy. I get nervous sometimes with men, even my own foster dad, and uniforms freak me out. It helps that he calls my name before he comes in the room and lets me know it’s him. I’m learning that uniforms are not scary and the human inside them are
actually really nice! My original owners said I have an allergy to chicken and grain so I’ve been eating salmon and pumpkin dog food twice a day. I sit nicely and wait for the meal to be placed in front of me.
