My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beau and Luke are handsome and very SPECIAL BOYS! They are siblings that
were rescued as puppies and that family has lost their job and is no longer
able to keep them. They were the last pups left from their litter. Beau was
born with a deformed leg, it could have been amputated as a puppy however it
is too late to do that now. His left front leg is bent into the shape of a
"chicken wing". As a result of keeping the deformed limb, Beau walks with a
hobble or kind of hops. Beau will need a home with lots of carpet or area
rugs and lots of lawn outside. Beau can go for walks in a stroller while
walking Luke on leash. He loves to lay in the sun, he is super happy when he
sees staff.loves his rear end scratched. Loves to give kisses and likes to
be held. Luke is very vocal and would scream when taken away from Beau. (he
isn't screaming as he has settled in here at the sanctuary BUT we would want
them to be adopted together. They are both 7 years old. Beau weighs 15
pounds and Luke weighs 9 pounds they are Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes
(Chiweenies). His ideal adopter will provide him some Physiotherapy to make
the most of his mobility and maybe some acupuncture. Luke looks more
Chihuahua though they are siblings. They are a delightful duo and are great
companions. They love everyone and everything including cats & birds. They
love to go with you wherever you go. Luke walks well on a leash and we are
certain Beau would enjoy a trip in a doggie stroller. They are both
neutered, current on vaccinations and micro-chipped. These precious boys
need you to cherish and love them. You will not be disappointed! OFFICE
If you are interested in this dog or would like more information please send me an Adoption Questionnaire
Thank you

We appreciate that you are interested in one or more of our dogs or cats for adoption. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner.

1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it.

2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why)

a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response.

b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get.

c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to.

3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org

4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/

5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
We are closed on Sundays unless you make prior arrangements and schedule an appointment
