My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Miss Della came to us, along with her litter of nine-week-old pups (all adopted now), from a shelter where their owners had brought them. This mama was over raising babies and was ready for them to move on. And she's right! It is time for her to get some well-deserved me time.

Della is only about 28 pounds and about two years old and is a submissive soul. Her former people stated she is a Beagle mix and we definitely see Pointer in there. She is truly as sweet as can be. Her only true issue? It appears she was never allowed in a house before and she believes she still is not allowed inside. Her amazing foster is working on it though. She's acclimated to being allowed in the garage and is well on her way to enjoying being a full-fledged member of human packdom.

There are children and dogs and cats at her foster home and she does well with them all. Very young children are still a relative question mark. She just needs a home and people who are patient and kind and can show her that life on the inside is 1000% better than life on the outside looking in. Della also needs a home with another mature dog in the household. Due to her shyness, she really needs another dog she can bond with and follow as her confidence builds.

If this little girl sounds like just what you have been looking for then you may be just what she's been looking for. To apply please read on or go directly to throwmeabonedogrescue.org/adoption-process.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
