Meet Monkey, a very special boy in need of a loving, forever home!
Large breed experience required for this stunning little Fila puppy who nearly lost his life after being abandoned at Miami Dade Animal Services.
This perfect boy has thrived in his board and train and in his foster home and is nearly ready to meet his perfect match.
Meet & greet necessary for entire family, home visit also required but once you meet little Monkey, you will be smitten!
His foster momma says: ...sweet ... Brazilian Mastiff (Fila) is a bright, energetic and headstrong pup who needs a family that has large dog experience and are savvy pet owners. The breed can grow to be 100lbs of lovable and sweet, so he will prefer living in a house over an apartment.
Monkey is playful, sweet and accepting of other dogs (with supervision & proper intros). He recently did a board and train with an awesome trainer and is continuing training while we foster him. He’s so smart!! We are making sure he has the best foundation possible to set him up for success.
Since this breed of dog shows outstanding courage and determination, they were bred for hunting and protection. So Monkey needs a committed owner willing to continue his training, work and learn to understand the breed to ensure a happy, harmonious household.
For now, we recommend he goes to a home with adults only, due to his large size once fully grown. Filas have strong personalities but attach to their owners and family, making it a loyal breed. They love to sleep & relax, and be around their loved ones and with the right family, Monkey will be an excellent companion. If you have the experience and are interesting in adopting this munchkin... don't wait ... he's one of a kind!
