Ruby and her two siblings, Oliver and Indigo, found themselves turned in as strays to the city kill shelter. They were very scared there and were quickly put on the euthanasia list. A shelter volunteer begged us to help them and we agreed to take them into rescue.
Ruby is a sweet girl and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. As is a hallmark of her breed, she is shy, but once she gets to know you, she will be your best friend. She loves hot dogs and playing outside in the grass with other dogs. She is also so beautiful! She has learned how to walk on a leash and knows to do her potty business outside. She actively seeks attention from her favorite people by coming over and demanding pets and words of praise on what a good girl she is. She is looking forward to finding a special human that can be her best friend. She is smart and learns quickly. She would do fine with a single person to be her "one and only" or a couple or a family with older kids (teens).
Ruby is thought to be a Carolina Dog mix. She is smaller, weighing 35 pounds and is estimated at 1 year old. She has done well with other dogs. She would likely do fine with cats, too, she just hasn't been formally tested with them. Her brother, Oliver, has already been adopted and is doing fantastic in his new home with another dog and cat. Now, it is Ruby's turn to find her happily ever after!
Ruby's adoption fee is $650 (that includes GROUND transport from Houston, TX to the Seattle, WA area). She has been fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped so she is ready to go!
