My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allow me to introduce you to Ginger. Ginger lived on the end of a tie out. Her life consisted of 6 feet of space in any direction. Ginger could get on the porch were she stayed most of the time because when she moved to her ground space she had no where to sit or lay because the ground was covered in feces. Her food bowl was sitting in middle of this feces filled area. It was a disgusting, miserable existence for Ginger. Long story short. Ginger is free from her tie out and has learned to love life again. She loves being able to run and play and get regular meals in a clean environment. Ginger is an amazing girl despite her previous life. She yearns for attention and wants to be with her human. Due to being confined most of her life, she would get so excited to be around people she would jump up on them not realizing she is a big girl and that jumping is bad. We are working on this and so far she is doing great with training. Ginger sits for treats. She loves treats. Although she is surrounded by toys now she is unsure exactly what to do with them. She needs a human that will teach her how to be a dog. I can not say enough good things about Ginger. I am her foster mom. Ginger lived in a fenced in area with 8 other large dogs so bigger dogs we know she is okay with. She may be amazing with smaller dogs but until she is completely broken from jumping I would recommend she be adopted to a family with dogs closer to her size or she is completely content with being the only dog. Ginger does not realize she is a big girl. She thinks she is a lap dog. For this reason I think it would be best for her to be adopted into a family with adults only or a family with older children. She would not hurt anyone on purpose but with her size she could unintentionally knock a small child over. If you are looking for a companion that loves big, look no further. Ginger is absolutely amazing. I loved her from the first moment I met her and my love for her only grows by the day. You will love her too! Ginger is believed to be 18 months young. She is heart worm negative, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and crate trained.
