NAME: Hollywood (“Holly”)

WEIGHT: About 10 pounds

CHILDREN: All adult home or home with teenagers

Meet Hollywood. Hollywood is a sweet girl, looking for a loving home to grow up in. Hollywood’s foster family says she is the nicest dog they have ever fostered. We cannot wait for you to meet her.

Hollywood found herself in an unfortunate situation when her human Daddy unexpectantly passed away. Hollywood and a Shih Tzu were found in the home, and had been there a few days before they were discovered. Tzu Zoo Rescue (an excellent rescue in Dallas) was called in to help. They agreed to take the Shih Tzu and reached out to CRT to help Hollywood. We were honored to get the call, and to help this little sweet girl.

Hollywood has a mellow, laid back personality. She gets along well with the other small and medium sized dogs in her foster home. She loves to play with them. She will chase them and roll around in the grass with them. She enjoys being outside and will run zoomies, then sun herself for awhile. Hollywood enjoys toys. She likes chewing on both her soft toys and also on raw hides. After playing, she is ready for a short nap with her doggie buddies. Hollywood also gets along with the cat in her foster home.

Hollywood loves people. She enjoys being with her foster Mom and foster Dad. Hollywood will meet you at the door and gets so excited that her entire body wags! If you want a hearty “welcome home”, this is your girl. Hollywood loves being in the same room with her family and wants to be involved in the daily activities. She comes up to you and begs to be picked up. Once picked up, she loves belly rubs and will give you kisses to express her joy. In the evenings, she likes snuggling on the couch against you as you watch TV. She is truly a velcro dog. Hollywood really likes big soft blankets, and you will often find her snuggling in one. Hollywood has the cutest habit of smiling when she is sleeping. It will melt your heart. Her favorite thing in the world is car rides! Oh how she loves to be in the car with you and feel the wind blow in her face.

The perfect home for Hollywood would be a laid back home. She would be a great fit for a work-at-home family or a retired family. Hollywood is a bit shy when she meets new people, but warms up fairly quickly. We highly recommend a family that is home a great deal of time so that she will feel comfortable and relaxed. She is very social, and is happiest when she is around you or around sibling dogs.

Our vet believes Hollywood is about 9 years old. She acts much younger! She weighs about 10 pounds. Hollywood is tan with some creme highlights. We love her brown button nose. Hollywood just had a complete dental and while she lost a few teeth, her mouth and teeth are in great shape now. Important health note: we believe Hollywood is hard of hearing. She is not like a typical deaf dog (she does not respond to anything in a negative way). But she does not react, even to loud noises. On a positive note, she does not bark much. She is super smart and does respond to hand signals. She is very obediant – extremely obediant. She wants to please her family and is such a happy girl. We want her adopting family to be aware of this when considering her. We believe she would do well as an only dog (as long as she got lots of attention) or would fit into a pack. There are no children in her foster home. She loves people, but due to her hearing issues, we recommend an all adult home or a home with older children (teenagers).

Hollywood is very smart. She is almost completely potty trained. She has learned to use the doggy door in her foster home. Hollywood is not found of crates and will cry if crated. She enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster parents (we believe this has been her routine her entire life). She walks well on a leash and enjoys short walks. Hollywood is in great shape physically (great at jumping, running and following).

Hollywood is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet girl sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Hollywood is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $324.75 adoption donation required ($300 adoption donation and $24.75 Texas Sales Tax). Note: as of 1-1-20, the Texas State Comptroller office is requiring all rescue groups to collect sales tax on adoptions, even though we are all 501c3. We are all fighting this, but for now, have been told it is non-negotiable.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
