Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lara's story is one of strife, hope, and recovery. One day Lara walked out of the forest near Miranda, CA. She was so emaciated she looked like she was about 20 years old. Her eyes were horribly infected, she was wheezing, and had green mucous oozing out of her nose. She was looking for help, desperate.
Miraculously she found a person who was related to one of our fosters, and we made arrangements to take her in. She was immediately taken to the vet for services, put on strong antibiotics and food supplements, had some wounds that needed tending, but no terrible diseases. Everything was treatable.
Lara has gained almost two pounds under our care and still needs to put on a little more weight but now she looks like a very slender kitten instead of an emaciated senior. She is going to be a pretty girl. Her energy has improved and she plays like she has never had the opportunity before. She is blossoming under the care of a loving foster but she is learning how to be a pet.
Lara may continue to need supplements for the rest of her life due to her chronic upper respiratory condition when found. Other than that she can live a completely normal life and should be kept indoors for her future. Why put someone out who has survived the harsh elements? We do have photos of her when she was rescued. She is very lucky she decided to seek help.
Lara will be spayed 6/15/21. She has had her first FVRCP, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, been dewormed and deflead. She will get her second FVRCP and Rabies shot at her next vet visit.
