Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Yoda! She is a female, approximately 2 years old, tri-color cattle dog/heeler mix with the sweetest disposition and an average energy level. She’s 40 pounds, well behaved, enjoys playing with her ball, and is most content in the presence of her foster mom. She’s affectionate, eager to please and extremely appreciative of being in a house with a warm dog bed to sleep on (next to Mom’s), good food and a few toys (which are new to her).
Since being with her foster mom, Yoda’s spirit has blossomed and she’s a happy girl! She can be timid at first but is gaining confidence with each day. She’s learned to walk on a leash and how to politely say hello to other humans and dogs (she is more hesitant with men, but warms up quickly with a nice pet and her foster sister’s encouragement). She is also learning her basic commands and has “sit” and “stay” down well!
Yoda will be a loyal and loving companion who will greet her new owner(s) each day with tail wags and hugs. She would benefit from a home with a mom or dad who will be patient with her as she gets comfortable in a new environment as she can be shy. She would also prefer a family with at least one owner who is home most of the time (we are crate training, but she does get scared when she’s left and will bark). It would be best for any children to be over the age of 10; she’s good with other dogs but would be fine with or without another dog in the home
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
