My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mama Alaska — Alaska came to us by way of Madera Shelter where she landed as a stray and a new mother with one, one day old baby (Juneau). Luckily, we were quickly able to get them to Hearts for Paws and out of the cold shelter.

We have spent the past two months with Alaska in our home & with our other dogs (she is wonderful with the 8 other dogs from small seniors to large assertive dogs, to other foster puppies). During her time as a mama Alaska played her part in rescuing animals as well! When we found out that there were two newborn babies whose mother was refusing to nurse and acting aggressively towards them, we got them to Alaska and she nursed them alongside her one baby and treated them as her very own. She is one of the best Mama dogs we have ever rescued & deserves a happy ending / family to call hers.

More about Alaska
-- Alaska is good on leash
-- Would make a wonderful running buddy
-- Great meeting strangers / new kids
-- Moderate activity level (happy to run but can also chill inside)
-- No farm animals or cats for Alaska -- (but is living with a small blind dog and is gentle with him. She has also been gentle with 1 lb foster puppies)
-- She travels well in the car
