Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet this handsome low-rider Kobe!❤️🐾❤️
Due to no fault of his own, Kobe’s owner surrendered him to us. Kobe was adopted from a local municipal pound 7 years ago. He has lived with his family until now.
Kobe loves people and is a sweet gentle, laidback boy. He tends to often times look like a real life Eeyore. He has the most soulful eyes and is extremely gentle.
He is low energy and would thrive with someone who can be home with him often and give him lots of love and affection. He has some skin issues going on that we hope to help him get relief from. (BARC will cover this).
Kobe previously lived with another dog (a husky), and also lived with a 3-year-old child.
🐾 Age- Approximately 7-9 years old.
🐾 Weight- 73lbs.
🐾 Very kid friendly! Kobe now lives with two children in his foster home ages 5 and 7, and he’s great with them! He’s calm and gentle and never jumps on them. He is not at all bothered by their high energy. He wags his tail and rolls toward them whenever they pet and snuggle him.
🐾 No cats.
🐾 House trained.
🐾 Crate trained.
🐾 Takes treats gently.
🐾 Walks well on leash. He’s so easy to walk and never pulls, even when passing other people and dogs.
🐾 Knows basic commands.
🐾 Neutered and UTD on vaccinations.
Kobe is being fostered in Marlborough, CT.
This is what Kobe’s foster mom says about him:
Looking for the sweetest and easiest dog ever ever? Look no further! Kobe is the perfect gentleman. He is 110% chilled out. He has not jumped up on anyone in our family, not even the day we met him. He doesn’t go berserk when there’s a knock at the door or people come home from going out (he doesn’t even bark or get up, just lifts his head and starts wagging his tail). Check out the video of him walking on a leash - I mean, seriously, could he be any better behaved? Even when people walk by with dogs, he doesn’t bark or pull. I warned my children about leaving their stuffies around, but he has zero interest. This guy doesn’t beg, he’s had no accidents, came preprogrammed with basic commands, and loves baths. So, what are his downfalls? Well, he farts. A lot. And they are super stinky. Like, worse than vegan farts. And he’s not a huge fan of exercise. He’s got hyperkeratosis on some pads of his back paws, so I think it’s kinda painful for him to walk. As such, he’s probably not going to make a great running companion... though I have been slathering paw balm on his big ‘ole paws and crossing my fingers, so we’ll see! Oh, and he doesn’t really bark, so might not be the best option if you’re looking for a guard dog. 😂
Important notice:
We are primarily a Pit Bull 🐶🥰rescue and we require the following because its whats in the best interest of our dogs:
✴️Experience with bully breed or large breed dogs; we love that you want to adopt, but we believe we are not the right rescue for first time dog owners.
✴️Home ownership ~or~
✴️Renting in CT from the same location for a minimum of three years and letter from your landlord stating you are able to own a dog without restrictions on breed, size, or weight. Please note that out-of-state renters are not eligible for consideration.
✴️No babies or toddlers! Sorry! We love our kiddos just as we love our pups and we want to keep both safe at all times. We understand that Pitbulls are often the best breed with children—the “Nanny Dog” as they are known, but with so many variables involved when it comes to young kids and dogs, we always err on the side of extreme caution. This now applies to all of our dogs, (regardless of breed), even when listed as “good with kids.”😊
❇️As a result of our limited volunteer capabilities, once your application is received and reviewed, regretfully, we’re only able to respond to those applicants that have been determined to be the absolute best fit or best match for the dog. We apologize that we do not have the ability to reach out to every applicant.
❤️❤️❤️
All of our dogs are rescued from within the state of CT and fostered by amazing families located in the state of CT. #adoptlocaldogs
