Although his backstory may be a mystery, it’s easy to see why Sprite captures the heart of everyone he meets!
This sociable young man – with his glossy black ‘tuxedo’ jacket, snowy white ‘shirtfront’ and sparkling white teeth that would be the envy of any Hollywood star – appeared in the feral-friendly yard of a cat colony caretaker and made himself right at home. Confident, trusting, and talkative, he stayed close by. Subsequent time spent in a foster home has revealed a congenial little boy who thrives on a predictable daily routine; loves looking out windows to listen to and watch birds, passers-by, dogs being walked, fellow felines strolling by, and various vehicles roaring past. President of the Clean Plate Club, his motto is “Breakfast! My favorite! Dinnertime! My favorite! Crunchy dental treats! My favorite!” He doesn’t hesitate to ask for what he needs – a belly rub or behind the ears scratching; a mid-afternoon treat; assistance with retrieving his catnip mouse or treasured bottle cap from under the sofa – and you won’t be able to resist the request in his enormous golden eyes. He loves a good snuggle during TV time, and is happy to sit on your lap and monitor your keyboarding skills.
(INDOOR ONLY/ALWAYS) 1-1/2 year old Sprite is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and recently enjoyed a spa day (bath, ears cleaned, manicure). His previous history with dogs is unknown, but he may enjoy some inter-species camaraderie with a laid-back canine. He seems to do well with other cats.
