When I was a puppy, I lived with a lady and her daughter. We loved each other very much. Then one day, they handed me to a nice lady and disappeared. Yes, I never saw my family again. I will always miss them, but other dogs in rescue tell me that "things happen" and sometimes you have to find a new family. And of course, I will want all the attention I can get when I do.

So what do you need to know about me, and what makes me happy? It's simple. I need daily exercise, fun and structure. Long days away from my mom and/or dad will make me nervous and sad. Kids are okay but kind of goofy. I like grown-ups the best.

As for other pets, cats are weird and tempting to chase. I have liked them in the past, but outside cats hiss at me. I pretend to be brave, but they make me want to run and hide! Dogs often make faces at me on walks, probably because my breed is given a bad rap and they want to act superior, so I bark back at them. I heard one say I Iook like a piglet, just because he was sporting a leather collar and was strutting around. Sometimes I think I bring out the worst in other dogs. They don't realize I am not interested in  them, just my people!

Some humans think rescue dogs are "complicated." Maybe that is true about some dogs who don't trust humans and need time to adjust. Well, I am here to say I trust humans. I have been with humans since I was a baby, so there is no "breaking in" period. I'm all in when you adopt me! Speaking of which, I am ready.

It's high time you met the best DAWG dog you could ever imagine! I was the last dog to be taken in by my rescue group, and now I need to move into a real home again. Please write my DAWG volunteer friends to learn more about me at dawg@dawg-rescue.org. If you apply online, they will set up a meeting with me. COOL! Can't wait to meet you.

PLEASE NOTE: REGARDLESS OF TEMPERAMENT OR BREEDING OR ACTUAL BEHAVIOR, PIT BULL TYPE DOGS ARE CONSIDERED ILLEGAL IN PRONCE GEORGE’S COUNTY. THEREFORE, BRINX CANNOT BE ADOPTED TO A PG COUNTY RESIDENT.

Please apply online through the DAWG website, www.dawg-rescue.org. If you have any questions, please email us first. Note that we do not accept electric fences and place dogs only in the DC metro area. If you wish to meet Brinx, we will require an application. Meetings occur from time to time, outside, at a generally convenient location and time.
