See that HANDSOME sweet boy up there that's me, Doc & here I am looking for my new forever home!! I was purchased from a breeder here in IA almost 2 years ago by a couple. My Dad was handicapped and confined to a wheel chair and I guess my Mom didn't really want to take care of me, so for the first 18 months of my life I spent it in a bathroom and a walk-in closet! I never saw or touched grass, every time they would take me to the vet I would be carried. I never had social human interaction with anyone. Needless to say when my Dad's personal physician could no longer stand to see me like I was and contacted rescue to help me I was scared out of my wits. It took me a few days to realize my temporary Mom was my friend & that everyone only wanted to love me! But once I got some of that love I now THRIVE to be the center of attention! Any new home I go into is going to need to understand it may take me a few days to learn the routine and learn that you will always come back to me. Mom says I am going to be your "Velcro Hound" and I guess that means I am going to keep you in my sights. I was brought to my current home where there are a LOT of these things Mom calls "puppies" ...they too scared the begeezes out of me at first but now I am just one of the pack and love to have "romper room" time with them. I have not been introduced to any hound my age and size, so if I get to go to a home with other dogs please realize I will need a little adjustment period to realize they are my friend and not my enemies. I absolutely ADORE the little kids, more sweet loving just my size. I am doing incredibly well on my house training considering I have only known the great outdoors for a little over a month. I will come in and out of a dog door but do occasionally have some accidents, especially when left alone for an extended period of time. But I am one smart boy and know I can do it! I am UTD on all my vaccinations, HW tested negative and on preventative and altered. If you would like to hear more about how sweet I am please let Mom know I sent you!
