Jewel came in as a very scared dog, and is still working through her fears. She is sweet natured and has come a long way. It may take her some time to adjust, but she will attach strongly. The same is true for dogs; she takes time to adjust because she is scared. She is a smaller dog and once had to defend herself and her food. She will play once she gets to trust them. For instance, she enjoys walking with her foster dog brother because he helps her be less scared.
Jewel loves to cuddle, once she's your lifelong friend. She is very smart. She is learning tricks and to watch TV when it interests her. She likes to be groomed, and will let her nails be cut. She is generally quiet, but will let you know if someone comes to the door.
Jewel needs a patient family, to help her adjust, with both dogs and humans. She could do very well in something like agility training. She is house trained and crate trained.
Jewel has crystals in her urine and will require a special food for the rest of her life. Are you the special family for Jewel? Her foster family will give you more information if you apply for her.
