My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hubba! Hubba! Up for adoption in Texas: Linus Pawling. If you are familiar with the name, you won't be surprised that he typed up his own bio for you to read:

"Hi! I’m Linus Pawling. I am a one-year-old, 54-pound beauty. I was named after a Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry and Peace. Just like my namesake, I am very smart and easygoing.

I love to be with my foster family and I am great with kids. My foster family has two children, ages 7 and 10 that I lay on the couch with and get pets from. My tail is ALWAYS wagging.

I get along great with my foster brother, a two-year-old Labrador. I am completely housebroken, I love belly rubs, and getting brushed isn’t so bad either. I like playing in the backyard and going for walks. Even though I just started, I am a great walker and do excellent on a lead attached to my collar or in a harness. I’m good at jogging and would love to go for a run with you.

I am still young and have some puppy traits my foster family is helping me work through. I may have chewed up a shoe by mistake once, so please keep those types of things picked up so I don’t get confused. I love my toys and chew bones. I’m still working on breaking my ‘mouthing’ habit; I usually do this when I am excited and trying to get your attention.

I don’t like being left behind and I’ll bark if I am in the kennel while you guys are still in the house. I’ve already improved a lot on this, but I know it will take some more work.

I am a really great dog and I can’t wait to join your family in my new, furever home."

Linus would do well in a home with adults and/or adults and older children who would continue to do positive reinforcement training with him. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and housebroken.
