Up for Adoption in Texas: Meet Jessa!

What a beauty! Jessa is a gorgeous four-year-old female Labrador mix who weighs about 65lbs.

Jessa enjoys the company of her humans and can often be found running errands with her foster dad, whether it be to the post office or other dog-friendly establishments. Jessa loves affection and is content to lie at her human’s feet, basking in their presence. Jessa also enjoys play with dogs but is turned off by overly assertive play or challenges from some female dogs.

In her foster home, Jessa has learned some great basic manners such as how to walk politely on a leash, sit, heel, come (recall), default sit, sit/stay, down, down/stay, respect thresholds, off (not jumping up), and no (any undesirable behavior such as stealing food off the coffee table). True to her shepherd roots, Jessa takes her role as the protector of the family to heart and would do best with an experienced owner who will continue to reinforce her training.

Jessa would likely do well in a home with other dogs but is not a friend to felines. We'd recommend experienced adult owners for Jessa and a home without a lot of people or kids running in or coming and going.
