Hi, my name is Kenzo, I'm a 3 year old, 35#, blue merle mini Aussie. I grew up in a home that was unfortunately not a good match for an intelligent, energetic breed like me. Now that I'm in my foster home, I get to train and play everyday.
My foster mom has been introducing me to new sounds and people. If I don't know what it is, I have a tendency to bark because I'm scared. I am not aggressive, I have never shown teeth or snapped, I will, however, redirect for a treat very quickly. I will definitely need a family that is patient and helps remind me that 'it's ok, we're safe'. I do not chew or destroy anything, ever. I know my manners. I love to go for car rides, take leash walks and do zoomies in the yard. When I am back inside, I am happy to lay at my humans feet, snuggle on the couch or just lie where I can see all the action. I'd like to find a pup friend that plays with me whether in my furever home, or at the dog park. Cats are ok, I don't chase them. Older kids are ok, but I do like to chase them when they run, but I am a gentleman and never nip.
I'm an Aussie, so I need a job to stay busy and keep the brain active. My job lately has been to protect my foster dad. He has been sick, so I watch over him, warn him that he needs medicine and take his hand and gently cry to get him to concentrate. I enjoy this job and think I would do great in a home where I can help another human.
I am potty trained and sleep through the night for 8-10 hours with no problems. I go in the crate when I am home alone, but I might cry when you leave. With a few treats in the crate, I settle down and wait patiently for you to come home. I am neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations. I have a microchip and am heartworm negative. I take monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Monthly preventatives are a requirement to adopt me! Overall, I think I am an easy Aussie, more low key, but am definitely an Aussie with intelligence, cute frog legs and can catch a ball and play for fun. I do have an easy off switch!! I am looking for my forever family. Could it be you?
