My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Little Jilly is a 5 year old chihuahua mix.  Jilly was found as a stray in Texas in pretty rough shape. Who knows how long she had been on her own but you would never know it by her personality.

When Jilly came in she had a pretty infected mouth. We did get her a dental in which a lot of her teeth had to be removed.  She now feels so much better!!  She was also heart worm positive. She has since underwent heartworm treatment and will need to remain on preventative for the rest of her life.  The vet also said upon examination she had some old fractures in her legs but they are healed and since they cause her no issues it’s best to leave them as is.  It does make her legs bowed a little but she is able to walk and run like a normal dog.

Now that Jilly is all fixed up she feels like a million bucks and is looking for that happy ever after. Jilly is an arm chair dog.  She literally likes to sit on the arm of the chair tucked into her person and Just enjoy her new life.

Although Jilly is extremely loving and friendly to everyone she does prefer the male in her foster home.  She follows him everywhere he goes.  When he is puttering in the yard so is Jilly.  If he is outside in the workshop You can find her there as well.  If he is dozing on the couch you guessed it- so is Jilly.

Jilly does go to the bathroom outside, weather dependent and she will use pee pads inside if she needs to.  She is completely crate trained and loves to burrow deep inside a blanket when it’s time for bed.  Jilly does not walk on a leash so she will require a fully fenced yard (no electric or invisible fences though)

She gets along with other dogs okay and the cat in her foster home is no issue.  She even helps her foster dad tend to the chickens and has been very respectful.  She has been around a 9 year old child and loved her to but due to her history and petite stature we will not be placing her with young children or large dogs.

Overall Jilly is a great little dog.  She loves everyone and is just seeking what every dog seeks and that is a safe loving home to call
Her own.  If you are looking for a companion to keep you company and someone to spoil please apply for Jilly. She deserves it and then some!

Jilly is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated.  Her adoption fee is $400
