My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our sweetheart Figaro was found locked in a storefront, where he had undoubtedly ventured inside to seek shelter. Figgy is a total lovebug once he settles into a new place and gains trust in his new human companions. This little guy is an absolute snuggler. Once he's comfortable, just try to pour him off your lap! Figgy is a very nimble boy and loves to jump all the way to the top of his 9ft cat tree, where he has the perfect spot to observe life outside the window. The little squeak he makes when he jumps down is the cutest thing ever! Oh, and treats??? Bring 'em on!!!

Figgy and his BFF Adina have been together for quite a long time. They are well suited to one another, and we plan to place them in a forever home together. Both are chill cats, cat-friendly (with others, too!), and they thrive in one another's company. Adina is the boss lady of the house. She's more confident than Figgy, and her reassurances seem to help him when he is unsure about new situations. We think both cats would do well in a relatively quiet household.

Her pictures relate her beauty, but our Adina is much more than a gorgeous face! Adina constantly makes her foster mom laugh. This calico girl has plenty of catitude, and she's clear that life should be on her terms, but she is also extremely affectionate. Adina is always waiting at the door when her foster mom gets home from work. Even when cat food isn't on the menu, Adina loves to circle and rub against her foster mom's legs while she is cooking. She allows her foster mom to peacefully slumber, but as soon as she sees eyelids open, she jumps into bed for some lovin'! Adina has the loudest purr ever, and she chirps whenever she's happy - which is often. Her favorite spots for snoozing or just relaxing are (in no particular order) her mom's bed, a windowsill, or her multi-tiered cat tree. She's always up for a scratch on her head or her derrière. Attention??? Bring it on!

CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.

At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.

Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.

Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
