Debbie came into rescue a very frightened little girl with 6 other dogs, after the death of their owner. She has always preferred the 4 legged companions more than the 2 legged. Debbie likes all the resident dogs and doesn't mind the kitty. She has passed many milestones like learning to eat quality dog food and will take treats out of our hand. She will sniff our fingers but doesn’t want to be touched. If we do pick her up, she likes to be petted and doesn’t try to bite. Strangers scare her but she never bites. She will bark from a distance and quiets most of the time when I ask.
A resident dog is a must. She is not fully house trained but goes outside or on a potty pad 85% of the time. She is going to need someone who is willing to be patient and gain her trust at her pace but I believe it is well worth the challenge!
Wag N Train adopts dogs to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
