My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Beau is a courtesy post for Chihuahua Rescue and Transport (CRT) www.chihuahua-rescue.com. He is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

Say hello to one of CRT’s favorite fosters! Beau is a sweet little senior man who has overcome so much in his precious life. He deserves a wonderful home where he can live out his golden years. Please help us turn his story into a fairy tail ending.

Beau had been seen in a Dallas neighborhood for months, wandering as a lost dog. He was super friendly and he seemed to enjoy life, but he didn’t have a home of his own. The neighbors banded together to feed him and keep him safe as they looked for owners, but alas, no owners were ever found. They worried about Beau and noticed some tumors growing from his right hip area, so they reached out to various rescue groups via Facebook for help. Although CRT is a Chihuahua-based rescue group, Beau captured their hearts and they made Beau an honorary Chihuahua.

Beau was immediately taken to CRT's vet and underwent immediate surgery to remove the tumors. A biopsy was done and Beau is cancer free! He also had a good dental to correct some major problems developed while living a life on the streets. He was given all his shots, neutered and microchipped. Through it all, he recovered like a champion! He has a soft and gentle spirit and everyone just adores him...

Beau is a senior who has a definite pep in his step and is in amazing shape considering the time he was on the streets. We know there are dog lovers out there who love seniors. We are asking all of our followers to 'share' Beau's story and help us find a forever home for this amazing senior survivor!

Beau has a really laid back personality and enjoys hanging out with the other small dogs in his foster home. He loves taking naps in his soft doggie bed and cuddling with them and his humans. Beau doesn't have an interest in toys but he enjoys the company of other dogs.

Beau is VERY friendly and also loves his people. Beau is like a shadow who follows his person from room to room. He enjoys snuggling up on the couch with you and just wants to live his life being close to you!

Beau has some beautiful coloring.  We love his dark brown electric eyes! Even though he has cataracts forming, he still sees fine. He also has a low level heart murmur not advanced enough to require medication at this point in time but may in the future. For being out on the streets so long, this guy is in remarkably good shape!

Beau loves life and would love to spend his senior years in a laid back, loving home. He is potty trained and does well when kept on a schedule. He enjoys exploring the back yard and very short walks. At night, he currently sleeps in a doggie bed. At Beau’s age and stage in life, he should not go to a home with smaller children. There are no children in his foster home, but he loves everyone would probably do well with older, gentle, mature kid (perhaps 10 and older). He is mild mannered and will be so happy to have his own home.

Beau is ready to join a loving home– could that lucky home be yours? If you would like to make Beau’s dreams come true, please submit an adoption application at: https://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/. He would love you more than you could ever imagine...

Beau is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $270.63 'senior' adoption donation required ($250 adoption donation and $20.63 Texas Sales Tax). Note: as of 1-1-20, the Texas State Comptroller's office began requiring all rescue groups to collect sales tax on adoptions, even though we are all 501c3.

As part of CRT’s mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets in the home are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements is not met.

After filling out an adoption application please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in Beau. Please be sure to read about CRT’s adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
