My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Adoption Pending**

Lilou is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 9/15/20.

Don’t let the fact that she comes in a small package fool you, Lilou has an engaging, larger-than-life personality and so much love she is brimming with enthusiasm to share. With a cuteness-meter off the charts, this fawning young feline will reveal her endearing and delightfully sweet charm to one-and-all in her completely well-intentioned, but mischievous, spirited play and uninhibited invitations for one-on-one time and attention from people.

Seeking approval from a gentle touch and soft-spoken words, Lilou revels in being close to people, she enjoys being held and snuggling in peoples’ arms, and she will choose loving attention and interaction with her people over just about any other activity. That’s not to say she doesn’t enjoy plenty of playtime and adventurous exploration on her own and with other cats, too – she certainly does, and vigorous, sometimes ruff-n-tumble play sessions will need to be a box-checked on her daily activity agenda for sure.

Cheerful and upbeat, undemanding and easy-to-please, extremely affectionate and pretty happy-go-lucky, mischievous, lively, adventurous, curious, and simply adoring and adorable – Lilou above all else is a people cat-kitten looking to light up the lives of her new family members when they welcome her into her forever home where she will live the rest of her days as a very much-loved and pampered pet and companion.

Lilou was rescued as an emergency medical case with the assistance of another rescue we partner with: Save Monroe Strays - she was suspected of being hit by a car and although the emergency vet found no broken bones in her x-ray, she was plenty bruised and had clearly gone through trauma. With time to recover, she has grown to love romping with other felines and is no longer showing any signs of trauma. She was dewormed, treated for Giardia, Coccidia, and fleas/ticks while with us as well.

Now a happy, healthy feline, Lilou is looking for her forever home with a family who can give her the time and attention a growing young cat needs.

Lilou is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Lilou currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
