Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ready to have your heart stolen by these adorable speckles and soulful eyes? Meet Bandit, a 3 year old black and white mini Aussie fostered in Gainesville, FL. He’s worked very hard to now weigh in at a svelte 30 pounds and will need encouragement to keep the exercise level up and the calories down in order to lose that final pound or two.
Bandit is a super chill guy. He’s a lower energy Aussie that’s happy just lounging and cuddling. He’s an independent pup that does not need to cling to your side, but does usually like to nap where he can keep one eye on your activities.
He’s a great walker and loves long strolls through the neighborhood or parks, but also loves to run free and fast in the backyard. He’s good in the car, at the vet and with grooming. He is hesitant when meeting new humans and dogs alike, so careful, slow introductions will be needed. He took quite a while to adjust to his foster home and will need someone to give him the same patience to adjust to his furever home and for his sweet personality to truly come out and shine.
Bandit gets along and plays great with his foster dog sibling, but would likely be just as happy as an only dog too where he doesn’t have to share couch space and human attention.
The only point of contention that arises with his foster sibling is that Bandit is protective of his food and edible chews. He will give a warning that he’s unhappy, but is also ok with foster mom taking away the chews when the squabbles get too rowdy.
He is very curious about kitties, but unfortunately his foster cat sibling does not return the interest. Bandit has never shown aggression with the cat, but does bark with excitement, and may want to give chase if given the opportunity. He has also been introduced to young children and was very patient and gentle with the kids. However due to his food related resource guarding behavior, a home with very young children should carefully consider the situation before committing to this little guy.
