Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cody is actually a charity case who is really ready for his "forever home". Cody ended up in the hands of two generous people when they found out, in the heat of summer, that his owner was jobless, homeless, had one arm, and was living in his car with his kid and Cody. I have kept him for months, waiting for this guy to return for him. His wife had given Cody to the kid, and then committed suicide. Obviously, he is very important to the kid..
He came back for him, and had him for two weeks. Then this guy returned with Cody and asked if he could be kept a while longer. He said he might be in jail for three or four nights. A month passed, and he left a message that he would be in rehab for eight weeks. That time has passed and this "fur kid" believes this is his home. It is time to go to a better place where he will be loved. We have not heard from anyone who cares.
I swear, I am not lying about this story! As a behaviorist/trainer, I have worked with Cody these many months. He has a whole lot of energy, but has learned good manners and been socialized with two other dogs, and an embarrassing number of kitty cats. He has actually been quite nurturing to a litter of newborn kitties. Cody is going to be a very nice pet! I hope that he will have a home long before Christmas.
Read his story in two columns that we have written.
