Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Lila is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog, with a nub tail and pretty blue, white and tan coloring. Although you can't tell from her pictures, she's recently had puppies, and the whole family (minus dad) were at the pound when we rescued her. Since we only had room for one dog, we took the one least likely to be adopted - mama - and hoped for the best for the puppies. A few days later we learned that their fate was the worst; too many puppies at the pound and not enough adopters and rescuers :(
Lila has delighted every one in her foster home from the moment she arrived. Her foster parents report that she is a bundle of affection, loves belly rubs and is generous with her kisses. Although she doesn't know her name yet, she always comes when they call, no matter what they call her (or who they are calling). True to her cattle dog genes, Lila is a very smart girl and although she hasn't been taught commands by her previous owners, she is eager to please and earnest to learn. Lila lives with Moe, a former Athens Canine Rescue dog her foster parents adopted only a few weeks ago. Moe and Lila became best friends the moment they met, and spend happy hours playing in the yard. Nobody realized Moe had so much energy until Lila showed up to get him going! Lila also lives with Bubba the cat and shows him the proper respect. She pretty much ignores him, and when he hisses she gets out of the way fast. Lila would make a terrific family dog because she is so friendly and confident and playful. She might have a bit too much butt-wiggling, excited energy for toddlers who aren't steady on their feet, but for any other kid, she'd be a terrific buddy.
