My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kimo is a two year old (B.D. 11/2/20) Great Pyrenees/Anatolian mix (the Anatolian part is not DNA verified) who is now ready to find his forever home. When he arrived at GPRCI we had no idea the journey he had ahead of him. Kimo was diagnosed with OCD in both shoulders that required surgery to correct. He fully recovered from that surgery and has been waiting a long time to find his forever home. It took many months to get into specialists and get the surgery done during covid lockdown, followed by recovery and rehab. Kimo is now a handsome 115 pound boy who at two years old is still very puppyish.
Kimo doesn't know a stranger in regard to people and gets very excited meeting new people. He has an exuberant personality and will require an experienced, in charge owner committed to continued obedience training and work on manners. He sits for treats and meals and before going in or out of doors. "Wait" is a work in progress and he is learning better leash manners, does fine at the groomer and rides pretty well in the car. He has some house experience and can be crated. Kimo has great potential but will take training, patience and maturity to become his best self. He tends to be overwhelming in play with other dogs and if placed with another dog it will absolutely need to be a female and the right fit, meaning a female that can and will appropriately correct. Kimo is not a good fit for kitties or young children.

Kimo will be placed as a companion and a securely fenced yard for safe outside time will be required.
