My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie is about 8 years old and finds herself looking for a new home. She weighs about 22 pounds and we think is a mini dachshund/basset hound mix (maybe cutest mix ever?!). Sadie was adopted from us a few years ago but her owner's health declined and she was no longer able to care for her so she's back with us. Sadie is listed as special needs because she has chronic environmental allergies and this is something her new family will need to be aware of and likely treat with their vet a few times a year. Her legs and belly were pretty red/itchy/inflamed when she came back to us and our vet has her feeling like a million bucks again with a combo of antibiotics, steroid injection, and herbal supplements. She is staying on the herbs but everything else is done.

Sadie wants a fenced in yard in her forever home as she loves to sunbathe but also walks nicely on a leash and loves to go for rides in the car. She loves playing with her toys. In typical doxie fashion, she likes to bury under the covers and snuggle on the couch with her person. Sadie asks that only serious cuddlers apply! She wants to be your one and only love. She does tolerate and bosses around the large, seniors in her foster but has not liked dogs her size that we have tried to introduce her to so needs to be an only dog. She is house trained and doesn't require a crate when you leave. She wants a quieter house without young kids as she's a middle aged cuddle bug of a lady that isn't interested in small kids messing with her.

Let's help get this girl a great home to call her own! Applications can be found at www.maxxandme.org. Adoption fee is $225. Sadie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and on flea and heartworm prevention.
