Meet Rusty - 8 year old Rusty can keep you laughing with his lust for food and his "Barney Fife" attitude. This little guy is diabetic but he's not letting that keep him from his job as Fun Police. Rusty gets along best with male or female dogs his size or female dogs larger than him who have a good sense of humor. But what he really wants is his people-time. Follows you everywhere. Loves sleeping in your arms, riding shotgun in the car, and supervising all the household activities.

Rusty is master of the doggy door and although he is housebroken, does best when he can access at will a fenced yard; this because his diabetes sometimes forces him to heed the call of nature more than other dogs. As the video shows, he is highly food-motivated and therefor very easy to train and easy to administer insulin to. Because he has diabetes, he needs to maintain a strict grain free diet with 2-meals-a-day on schedule. His dose of 2 units of Novalin N is administered immediately after his meals. He will need to take insulin for the rest of his life but he is otherwise a healthy little guy.

This dog will do best with a confident person who is MinPin savvy. He prefers a quiet home without small children and with people who will appreciate him for who he is: a bounding, charming, vivacious, fiercly loyal little-big-man.
