My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

BEAU wants to be your shadow and join you on every adventure and be your constant companion at home!  This is both because Beau enjoys attention and also because he really struggles with anxiety if left alone.  This is very understandable as he has moved from home to home, with one of his previous homes neglecting him.  In fact, his current home kindly took him in after a neighbor found him running loose with a collar that eventually had to be pried off with pliers with multiple infections and being underweight.  This family loves him and has done wonders for him in the time they have had him, unfortunately they aren't allowed to make changes needed to make the area secure enough for Beau and aren't able to be his forever home.  They have started to set him up for success in his forever home by working through house training, house manners, and commands.  He has done really well with his learning with the exception of not mastering catching the tennis ball - in fact they told us 'watching big Beau pounce on a tiny tennis ball, and miss…repeatedly, is one of the most adorable things you’ll ever see'. This young mal/husky mix needs lots of activity and a very secure yard as - true to both breeds - he has been known to be quite the escape artist.  His best home will provide both of these along with a lot of patience to help him through his anxiety utilizing rewards-based training.  Beau is confident meeting new people, which will make adventures even more fun!  He knows some basic commands already, including 'sit', 'wait', and 'shake' and responds well on leash to leash pressure.  He LOVES the water and enjoys putting his feet in the outside water bowl.  He has done well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion in his new home that enjoys playing.  Beau has the opportunity to become an amazing companion in the right home that understands his needs and is willing to give him the time he needs to know he is safe, loved, and that you will always be there for him.  Are youready to open your heart and home to this sweet, gentle, bouncy pup?
