My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Precious Patrick is easy to love! He is a stray who just showed up one day so his background is unknown. He is approximately one year old. Patrick isn’t fond of being picked up but he loves sleeping in your lap or sitting right next to you on the couch. He enjoys trail cam videos on YouTube and likes to play with small balls and little stuffed toys. At night he likes a good hard play time for a few minutes before bed and especially loves to chase the laser! Sometimes he will visit you in bed before you go to sleep or help you wake up in the morning. Patrick is very small for his age and has luxating patellas, but he isn’t greatly hindered by that. He has beautiful green eyes whose color seems to vary. Patrick is thrilled to see other cats and really should be in a home where he can have a kitty friend or two! He would love having other cats around to play with. He comes with his bed, blanket and his favorite toys. When Patrick has time to get accustomed to new surroundings, he will bond closely with his person.

Patellar Luxation in Cats: Occurs when the cat's kneecap (patella) is dislocated from its normal anatomic position in the groove of the thigh bone (femur). When the kneecap is dislocated from the groove of the thigh bone, it can only be returned to its normal position once the quadriceps muscles in the cat's hind legs relax and lengthen.

Are you interested in adopting Patrick or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application.

Thanks for thinking adoption!
