Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Grumpy is a beautiful 10-year old female Beagle mix who was brought to the HSOV on January 15, 2021 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden along with several other dogs and cats who had shared the same home . They have been in safe-keeping care in our shelter since January 15th (pending a court case) and became the property of HSOV on April 22, 2021 .. So Grumpy and her friends are now available for adoption or rescue through HSOV.
Grumpy has a white-and-tan short smooth coat, rather long legs, a long tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with a narrow white stripe on her forehead, dark brown eyes, a black button nose on her slender muzzle, and short floppy ears.
Grumpy cannot be trusted with cats and must not be placed in a home where she would have contact with them.
For the record, we have no idea why this beautiful girl would have been named Grumpy (unless it was a tongue-in-cheek nickname when she was a puppy .. or to follow the names of the Seven Dwarfs fairy tale characters). Grumpy has a sweet, rather demure, personality.
These updated photos were taken on May 10, 2021 (on a Monday when the shelter is routinely closed to the public). We set up a makeshift 'studio' in the lobby so that HSOV Assistant Manager Rachal Merrow could escort Grumpy and her companions for an indoor photo session. Grumpy was a little apprehensive but, true to her good-natured personality, Grumpy humored up while we took new glamour photos in hopes that a special person would fall in love with her and offer her the home of her dreams.
Grumpy weighs 35.6 lbs. She was examined by a veterinarian on May 4, 2021 who confirmed that she was already spayed. Grumpy was given rabies vaccine that day.
Grumpy is ready to interview candidates to be her new family. Grumpy is available for adoption and also for rescue.
