My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RustyCupid - Lab/Heeler Mix - Male - 8.5 Years - www.twyla.org

If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit www.twyla.org

Meet RustyCupid: He is about 8.5years old and came to us when his elderly owners could not longer properly care for him. RustyCupid (= old name plus new name for new beginnings) is a sweet and fairly gentle dog and is doing very well on his weight loss journey (limited portions plus green beans for fiber plus extra walks) he is doing to about 85 lbs from the 135 bs he was we we first got him. He is looking for a family to continue his journey to a healthy shape. RustyCupid is fully house and crate trained, walks pretty well on leash and is good with most other dogs - dogs that are rude to him however will get words back! He's fine in the car, ignores small dogs for the most part and is great with kids - due to his size we recommend kids toddler age and up.

RustyCupid is looking for a home with or without another dog, with or without older kids and he doesn't terribly mind being a Marathon partner - TV, not running! Rusty is pretty strong and just a little stubborn, especially when he is "talking" to the neighbors dogs at the fence, but is easily redirected as he loves treats.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
