My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I got adopted to a great home! Yay!

Not Accepting any more Applications or Inquiries. We have a home in the works and they are coming to see him soon.

My name is Sandy. I am a reddish blonde male Cocker Spaniel, 7 to 8 years old. I was turned into a NC shelter because I had a good size tumor on my butt area and my family couldn't afford the vet care to get it looked at and possibly removed. They asked that I be euthanized because they saw that I was having major issues when let outside to do my business and knew then that I needed immediate care. The shelter staff reached out for rescue help because I am such a nice dog and they felt that I deserved a chance to live and find a good home. The rescue owner came to get me.

Time was critical. I was checked in and quickly scheduled for surgery as soon as they could take me. They didn't know if I would make it through the time it took to take the tumor out because it was quite large. It was a critical, very tedious surgery but they got all of the tumor out, clean margins and now I am hospitalized for round the clock care and doing well. I am a very nice, sweet cocker boy. I am easy to deal with and you can tell that my owners must have loved me. These nice rescue people have paid for my care and after I rest and recover for several months, I will be a wonderful pet for someone to adopt. My surgery has been quite costly and expensive for these folks and now I am asking for your help to donate to my care to help replenish their funds. Please show your kindness by sending a donation today to help with my vet costs . Ways to donate shown above. Thank you for caring about me.

Update: Sandy has done well with his recovery. Vet staff says he is one of the nicest dogs they have ever had in their care. Easy to deal with and a great personality. Just one very nice doggie.
