My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Willie Nelson and I am a big 'ole sweetie. I got in some sort of accident down south, and hurt my hip and eye. I really needed help, so I came up to MVPC to gain weight and heal! They took me to specialists OSU who said my hip is healing from a very old injury and my eye doesn’t cause me any problems. Yeah, I can’t see well out of the one eye, and I walk and run kinda funny, but that makes makes me special. I apparently do not make a great hunting or livestock dog per my DNA, as I love everyone and would much prefer to play fetch. I am good in my crate, but use a cover so I don’t sing you the song of my people. I swear it is meant to soothe but cover my crate and I am good to go! I am great on a leash & love to take a walk around the neighborhood, but collecting toys and sticks in the backyard is my true passion. I like kitties, but may chase in play initially (my foster mom has four!) and I am fine with other dogs! Once playtime is done, it's time for some good old belly rubs before bed! I will need glucosamine for the rest of my life to keep my hip loose, but I totally know I am worth it!

ADOPTION FEE: $250 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained).

A $100 hold fee is required for approved applications and will be applied to the full adoption fee at the time of the home visit.

ADOPTER: Dog experience, will need glucosamine for life
BIRTHDAY: Estimated 4-5 years
FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment)
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Yes
KIDS: Yes, over 8

INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25. We prefer male/female dog pairings unless both already reside in the home.

DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response.

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!
