My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Beau

Background

Beau came to us with all of his siblings from an animal hoarder's home in California. He is the last of his litter who needs a home. Beau is neutered and up to date.

What Beau Needs

Beau is a Jack Russell-Papillon mix, also known as a Papi-Jack. He is initially shy but warms up quickly to a sweet and loving 2-year-old boy. Beau needs a woman-only home as he is used to living with an all-female household and doesn't do well with men. He requires a yard for sunning and potty and prefers to have 1-2 dog friends to thrive, as he has had other dogs around him his entire life. Beau was rescued from a hoarding situation and is accustomed to being part of a larger dog group, so having a friend or two is critical to his wellbeing.

If you're looking for a lover boy who wants to be with you everywhere, is super playful, and loves having a buddy dog to be close to, Beau is your boy. He has medium-long soft and silky fur coat and does best when he is kept well-groomed, brushed, and bathed. Beau just adores being clean and brushed and loves attention, being talked to, and hugged. He is housebroken but has also learned how to use a Peepad as a backup if needed.

Beau is intelligent, lovingly gentle, and protective. He becomes very close to his special person. Beau does become a watchdog if you have company, so he will need a nice quiet place he can retire to if you have guests and people he has not been properly introduced to in the home. He prefers to be around only 1-2 people and becomes a lap dog, hugger, and kisser once he knows he can trust his humans. Beau likes all small dogs he has met and has done well with a few older lab puppies we have brought in and engages them in play.

Beau is a healthy boy but needs a cat and a small animal-free home due to the prey drive of Jack Russells. He has cleaned the house of visiting mice and moles on the rescue property.

How To Adopt Beau

Please use the link below to apply. One of our volunteers will review the application and call to follow up with questions, answer yours, and see if you are a match for this pup.  If it looks like a match can be made, then the next step is a meet and greet. Please use a computer as tablets and cell phones will drop the application. Beau has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for his and his new buddies.

To apply to adopt Beau he has a $550.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.                      https ://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/

Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment!
Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for a new rescue dog, please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/

Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect, and Emaciation, RPR focuses on feeding each rescued animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pets on the same foods for optimal health and long life.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG ADOPTION:

1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

2) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences.

3) Secure visible fencing required.

4) You must have a plan in place to socialize your dog properly.

5) The FASTEST way to be considered for a dog is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you at the back of the line. The folks processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families, and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly.

We bring dogs from up from California. There are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and some are placed with fosters, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington. We do not receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs.

Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time, we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.

We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship.

Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms, and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California..

RPR was established in April 2015. We placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on acreage in Arlington, Washington.

We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives

Come Meet Our Pets...
We have a home-based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption.
Our Adoption Process...
Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at our facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. We continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Since many of our rescues reside with fosters, applicants will meet their potential new family members by appointment either at the Arlington facility or with the foster at an approved site that works for all participants. We look forward to meeting you.

More about this rescue

I began pet rescue at the young age of 11 when I attended Junior High school across the street from a high kill shelter that employed a decompression chamber to kill animals. I never stopped. I have worked with many other rescues and rescued on a small basis. Because of the awareness in Wa. state and the huge base of volunteers and animal lovers in this state, I have endeavored to do this full time in order to save many more lives
