My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE - these puppies will not be adopted out until they are 8 weeks old. We will accept applications now and can set up meet and greets as long as an application has been approved by the board. They will be able to go to their new homes during the week of Thanksgiving. Please request an application to express your interest!

Arrival Story:India and her siblings come from an unplanned pregnancy because their mama was not fixed. When the owners no longer wanted the puppies, Faithful Friends stepped in.

Age / Weight:The puppies' birthdate is 9/28/2009 so as of Nov 9th,they are just over 6 weeks of age. Their weights vary but approx. 6 lbs at this point. Their mom was an English Setter and dad was a Golden Retriever. It's hard to guess what size they will be when they are full grown but probably large - possibly 60-80 lbs.

Personality Description:India loves to give kisses; she is very sweet. TBD - these pups are brand new to us so we're still learning about their individual personalities.

Everyone loves a Golden (and why not?) but please ensure that you learn all there is to love about an English Setter, as well. The breed is friendly, trainable and good-natured, but requires structured mental and physical exercise every day. Please make sure your home is prepared for daily walks/runs and playtime. Some info about English Setters:English Setters will thrive in a home where the humans are confident, calm leaders. Please read the link provided to learn more about this great breed: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/englishsetter.htm

Ideal Forever Home: These puppies will fit into almost any home. They will need a home that realizes that little puppies need lots of attention and socialization at this age so they can grow into well-mannered and social adult dogs. Having a puppy is very much like having a 2 year old child and does require time and patience but the end result is very much worth the work. Please apply for this puppy if you are ready for the hard work and all the fun that comes with raising a puppy. Because they cannot hold their potty all day long at this age, their adoptive homes will have to be committed to having someone home or hiring a pet sitter to help for potty breaks.

How to Adopt This Dog? Email ffarboard@gmail.com and request an application. Completing this pre-adoption application does not obligate you to adopt this dog but does give us more information on your personal situation. This helps us ensure that our dogs are going to homes best suited for their personalities and energy levels.

Please understand that it may take several days to process your application. Our volunteers all work full time jobs and do their rescue work in their spare time, so please be patient. Someone will follow up with you.

Adoption Fees: Their adoption fee will be $275 and includes the cost of their spay/neuter as long as they are taken to All About Animals Clinic in Warren, MI when they are old enough. If you are interested in one of these puppies, please email ffarboard@gmail.com and request an adoption application. Because some puppies may receive multiple applications, it would be a good idea to put 2-3 puppy names down in case your first choice is already spoken for.
India is up-to-date with routine shots.
