Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Laina
Age: 2-3 years old (estimated by our vet)
Weight: 50-55lbs
Breed: Catahoula/Bluetick Coonhound mix is our best guess
Spayed:No
Microchipped: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Dogs: Yes, but she does play a little on the rougher side.
Cats: Yes, she passed her cat test with flying colors
Kids: Absolutely, she's great! She's very playful, so dog savvy kids would be best!
Crate Trained: Not really, but she does tolerate the crate.
Barking: She only barks in the crate, when she's not in the crate she doesn't bark.
Leash Trained: Yes she's very good on a leash but does better with a harness.
Potty-Trained: Absolutely 100% she's only had maybe 1 accident before.
Personality: Laina just wants to be with you all the time. She loves everyone and everything. She definitely needs exercise, but once she gets out and gets exercise she becomes a complete snuggle bunny.
Backstory: Laina was placed in a kill shelter, I believe she was a stray. She was supposed be pregnant, we pulled the 3 pregnant dogs in the kill shelter within hours of them almost being euthanized. Laina is heartworm positive but she wasn't pregnant. Seems as if she's had puppies before though. Our vet said the first time that it was probably too early to tell, comeback in 3 weeks and we will do an ultrasound. Laina had her ultrasound and was confirmed not pregnant. Since she was 'pregnant' we couldn't treat the heartworm yet. We started her heartworm treatment which is 30 days of Doxy on 4/9/21 after the 30 days she will need 2-3 back to back immiticide injections. She also is not spayed since she was supposed to be pregnant. This is why Laina is up to go foster-to-adopt so that she can be spayed and heartworm treated before she's offically adopted.
