Arrival story: Bella was living the life of an outside dog when a good samaritan stepped in to foster her and prepare her for life as a loving companion and family pet.

Approximate age / Weight: 5-6yrs/76 lbs

Personality: Bella lives up to her name as she is a true brindle beauty. She's also beautiful on the inside with a loving, tender heart. She's very affectionate and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She also won't say no to a nice belly rub! Bella has decided this inside dog thing is definitely her cup of tea! She's enjoying being a family companion, sleeping on a cozy dog bed, and playing with these cool gizmos called dog toys. Bella was overweight and has lost 20 lbs! She didn't mind the diet as she gained a whole new love of and appreciation for yummies like apples, bananas, berries, carrots and sweet potatoes, to name a few. Even though Bella is loving the good life of an inside dog, she still loves being outside where she can romp around. She also loves to stretch out in the warm grass and catch some rays. Bella has come far in her transition to an inside dog. She's housetrained, knows many tricks, and her love of healthy treats keeps her willing and eager to learn new things. Bella is super smart and has so much potential. The sky is the limit for this beautiful girl!

Forever home: Bella is looking for a family who will give her all the love and attention she deserves. Bella hasn't gone through any formal training classes so her family should be willing and interested in doing so, so that Bella can continue her growth as a great companion. Bella truly loves being with people! She's enjoyed meeting children but has not lived in a home with children. For this reason it would be best if her family was an adult household or with teen-aged children. She seems to find comfort and security in a dog pal however she may take a week or two to adjust to a new companion. She seems to do better with a mellow dog who will give her the time and space to feel safe and warm up. Bella would love to have a fenced yard to romp freely. She does have a prey drive so Bella will not do well with cats or tiny dogs.
